Educational sponsorship is the gift that a just keeps on giving. The young scholar is safe, learning, and eating in the present moment. The entire family's stress of daily living is relieved a bit. In the future, the sponsored student will have more opportunity and choice. They will value education for their own children. Hopefully, a cycle of illiteracy is broken. It isn't just about the education, though. It is about a child feeling valued--knowing that someone cares enough about them to have their back. Once a child is sponsored through Sunflower Kids, we stick with them.
We know our kids. We visit them at school and in their homes. We are a part of their lives. We strive to connect the kiddo with the sponsor through letters, photos, and reports. If you are interested in sponsorship, please, get in touch.

DAvid and Julius:
"I first met David and Julius, two brothers, in 2013. They didn’t attend school and were living in incredibly poor conditions, some of the worst in the area. With the permission of their father, I have been sponsoring them to attend an English medium boarding school where they receive education, nutritious food and a safe roof over their heads. They are starting Form 3 this year and have achieved incredible results in their schooling over the last 10 years. They have thrived physically, developmentally and socially and are now two very kind and dedicated young men. I was also fortunate enough to raise enough money to build them a new house is 2016 to replace the unsanitary mud hut they were living in with a two-room concrete house that’s secure for when they are home on school holidays. I also provide them with funds to purchase food and school supplies each holiday break as their father is unemployed. Although I have only been to Tanzania twice to see them, I feel fortunate to have been able to see them grow and develop from a distance through their school reports, FaceTime calls and through Step by Step daycare friends who visit. Sponsoring David and Julius back in 2013 was a decision that has brought me much joy and fulfillment over the years and something I would definitely do again for another child/family." Maddy France, Sponsor.
Kadogo:
Sponsor partnership Australia, North America, and Africa!
"It has been such a privilege being a sponsor. I have watched in wonder as Kodoga has grown, flourished, and with her educational support become a smart, motivated young lady. It is such a worthwhile commitment. Giving really is good for the soul." Helen, Australia.
"All I can really say about why I give to Sunflower Kids and Kadogo is because it’s important to me to pay my good fortune forward, to know that what or who I’m giving to has a tremendous need and I trust it’s actually going to them. I also appreciate that you let me know how much it is appreciated." Vicki, USA.

Noella:
"When my family first decided to sponsor Noella my children were teenagers. I felt it was a good way to get them involved in helping someone who lived a very different type of life than we did as well as show them how valuable education was to people around the globe. Now that my children are young adults, they consider Noella part of our family. For about $100 a month we provide Noella not only with a high quality, life changing education but also room and board. We love getting letters and pictures from her. This experience has not only changed her life but ours as well. My kids take their own education more seriously knowing how precious a gift it is. Thank you, Judi and Sunflower Kids for helping change us all for the better!" Jen McPhie, USA.
OMbENi:
"Judi told me the story of Ombeni after I had started my first sponsorship with Sunflower Kids. I had no idea then that I would later be able to play a much bigger part in Ombeni's life. She was telling me about how in need some of these children were before they found Sunflower and Hilda. Telling me about the ones who were literally starving for not only food, as if that isn't important enough but also for sleep, comfort, love and safety. Without an education, they have very little hope in their world. Ombeni is very important to me now. I sponsor him. He went from a hungry little one who never got enough sleep, food or love to a happy boy who makes excellent grades and whom I know has a future. There is nothing better than knowing that you have actually made a difference in someone's life. To me, it is the ultimate joy. Plus, I know where my money is going and what it is paying for. Finding that in a charity is rare indeed." Nancy T., USA.
