Sunflower Kid’s turns 10! A Decade this year!

This was not a plan. We listened to need and charted a course based on what we heard. We’ve had a few bumps in the road–we learned. In the beginning, we just wanted to provide a healthy breakfast and lunch for a bunch of kids who were really hungry. We still want that and we do it, plus much more. Over the years, we have added educational sponsorships and a daycare.
We partner with StepByStep Daycare to provide a safe, nurturing, educational environment for kids and caregivers who really need it. Our mission is to provide a space that is equal to what families with means have available for their kids.
Many of our sponsored scholars have been with us since 2013. They have worked very hard to utilize the opportunity that their sponsors have provided. Now we have a new crop of kiddos. We are ALWAYS looking for sponsors!

Sunflower Kids and Stepbystep Daycare partner to provide:
- Over 40,000 meals each year! Breakfast, lunch, snack 5 days a week. Weekend meal, Meals for older students when they are home on holiday from school.
- Provide an inviting, safe place for kids to enjoy during holidays - movies, crafts, and just hanging out.
- Educational sponsorships for 50+ scholars.
- Quality childcare with a Montessori based curriculum for 50+ little ones ages 1-5.
- Help families with medical emergencies.
- Pay rent for daycare facility.
- Salaries for daycare staff.
- Clothing and shoes.
- Support young girls transition to adulthood with education and personal hygiene products. We want them to stay in school!
- A Program for volunteers and staff to create products to be sold in the USA. All proceeds are returned to feed and educate our Sunflower Kids.
